Searching for Double Snake Eyes
2026

Two six-sided dice are rolled twice and documented. Documented photographs are transferred via laser toner transfer using acetone. Empty spaces around the dice are filled with black ballpoint ink. Each pair of rolls are numbered
This project came out of the desire to create generative art without the use of code, using rudimentary elements, and via physical means instead of digital. Active in the generative art scene under the alias Guppy, I familiarized myself with the process of creating large-numbered collections using Hashlips and Photoshop. This project strips the process down to its bare essentials of allowing randomly generated results to determine the result of an individual image and the collection as a whole.
As the name suggests, Searching for Double Snake Eyes concludes when two 1's are rolled twice in a row. The odds are 1/1,296.
